Regional Workplace Solutions

RWS is regionally based but provides services nationally. We specialise in providing training, mediation and investigations in the areas of bullying, sexual harassment and discrimination. We also offer mediation and arbitration of commercial disputes.

Bullying, sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace is unlawful. Courts are rigorously enforcing the law in this area. There is also close media scrutiny of those organisations which fail to comply with their legal obligations. This can have an adverse effect of the image and brand of the organisation.

In certain circumstances, directors and other company officers can be made personally liable for breaches.

RWS can provide training to management and staff concerning their obligations and can offer prompt and impartial mediation when disputes arise. We also undertake workplace investigations in serious matters.

Training

Courses are generally interactive and require participation from the audience. They may involve an outline of the law, a discussion of examples from the courts, and group discussion of practical exercises.

Mediation

Mediation is a process where people in conflict are brought together before an independent and skilled person with a view to identifying the issues in dispute, and finding ways to resolve that dispute.

Bullying

A wide range of behaviour can be identified as bullying.
We can assist employers in reviewing policies and procedures to deal with this issue.

Sexual Harassment

Sexual harassment is unlawful if it takes place in certain situations, such as in workplaces and educational institutions. Employers can be made liable for the unlawful actions of an employee.

Investigation

Many disputes in the workplace are not serious. There may be less formal ways of dealing with the parties involved, including mediation, staff reviews, or training. More serious matters should be referred to an investigation.

Directors' Liability

Directors have a heavy personal responsibility for what happens in their company. In certain circumstances, they may be personally liable if the company or any its employees breaks the law, or causes harm to someone else.
